The twin towns of Tea Gardens and Hawks Nest are to be found on the estuary of the Myall River, a 1 hour drive from Newcastle and 2 1/2 hours north of Sydney. Nearby is the Myall Lakes National Park.
Tea Gardens and Hawks Nest are connected by the Singing Bridge which spans the Myall River.
Residents and the many visitors to the area enjoy a wealth of interests including river and beach fishing, windsurfing, golf, tennis, swimming, bowls, croquet and arts & crafts abound.
The pristine beaches are popular, swimmers and surfers love Bennetts Beach whilst the calmer water of Jimmys Beach is great for swimming, providing a great opportunity for relaxation for families.
